Mrs. Jessica Myers
I am one of the special education teachers. I have been a special educator since 2006. This is my fourth year at Keystone Academy. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and Mild Interventions from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College in Indiana. I am currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Cognitive Impairment from Eastern Michigan University.
Mrs. Melissa Ayars
I am one of the special education teachers and the special education building coordinator. I have worked in the special education field since 2001. In August 2008, I was fortunate enough to join the Keystone family. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from Oakland University, a Master’s Degree in Special Education—cross-categorical from the University of Phoenix, and I am currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Administration.
Mrs. Katherine Hartsock
This will be my sixth year as a teacher at Keystone Academy. Before joining the Keystone team, I had three years of experience in teaching 1st grade. My professional teaching experience began at Michigan State University where I received a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and completed a one-year student teaching internship program in a 1st grade classroom. I then taught 1st grade for two years prior to joining Keystone Academy in 2004.
As a teacher at Keystone Academy, I taught 1st grade for two years. I then taught 3rd grade for three years. I will be the K-3 Reading/Math Academic Specialist beginning the 2009-2010 school year.
