Andrea Kaplan
I will be a 3rd grade teacher for the 2009-2010 school year. This is my twelfth year teaching, my fifth at Keystone Academy. However, it will be my first year teaching 3rd grade here. I am looking forward to a great year with my third grade students. I graduated from the University of Michigan with my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. I earned my Master’s Degree in reading from Eastern Michigan University. Currently, I am working towards my second Master’s in Learning Disabilities at Madonna University.
In my free time, I like to spend time with my three year old son Cameron. Last year, I started taking Indian dance lessons. We actually had the opportunity to perform at charity events and the Michigan Theatre.
Mr. Ryan Chambers
I attended the College of Education at Eastern Michigan University. While completing my studies, I majored in Elementary Mathematics and minored in Language Arts. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. This past fall I completed my student teaching experience in the 3rd grade. In the winter, I worked as a guest teacher for South Lyon Community schools.
Music has always been a great passion of mine! I enjoy playing multiple instruments and listening to and learning new songs. Theater has also played a large part in my life as an actor, writer and director. In addition to music and theater, I spend the rest of my time reading and perfecting my golf game.
This is my first year at Keystone Academy and I could not be more excited. My hope is that this year will be an integral part of your child’s continued academic success. I know that working together we can make this possible.

Miss Jessica Sandoval
This is my 5th year of teaching. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. Upon graduation, I accepted an offer to work as a teacher through Teach For America, a program for college graduates that serves under resourced schools in urban and rural environments across the country. I spent my first two years working at P.S. 129: John H. Finley in Harlem, New York, as a Pre-K – 6th grade art teacher. During that time, I earned my Masters of Science in Childhood Education, at Herbert H. Lehman College in the Bronx, New York. Afterwards, I joined the staff at Explore Charter School in Brooklyn, New York, where I taught 4th grade for the past two years.
In my free time, I enjoy running. Last year, I set a goal to run a ½ (or full) marathon in all 50 states. I will be completing my 11th state, Michigan, in October 2009. I also enjoy volunteering for organizations such as Special Days Camps, which is a camp for children with cancer and their siblings. The camp is located in Jackson, Michigan.
I am extremely excited to join the Keystone staff and return to Michigan after spending several years in New York City. I am eager to bring my experiences into my classroom and help my students grow academically.
